THE SPORTING STAR: SPORTS ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE

Practice is our first objective indeed. But, we are also trying to promote Sports Associations (S.A). The S.A. are traditionally dynamic in agricultural education schools thanks to the sports equipment and staff.

We are proud to say Cibeins' Sporting Star is a top leader with over 150 Sports certificate owners every year .

Team sports: volley-ball, football, basket-ball, rugby, handball…

Outdoor sports: mountain-biking, horse-riding, climbing, kayaking...

Individual sports: cross-country, badminton, fitness, swimming…

At Cibeins School, the students themselves handle and manage their own activities every year.

They set up the Board, vote for their budget and organisation rules (meeting, matches…).

They manage more than 150 matches every year. The funds are raised thanks to the students' membership fees and the famous Yearly Sports Tournament of Ascension Day. This self-managing system helps teenagers to take more initiative and responsibilities .

An optional 2-hour sports course is offered to students who can thus seize the opportunity to start a career in sports activities or teaching.

Cultural and Social Education (CSE)

This programme was set up in the early seventies by the French Department and Ministry of Agriculture for agriculture students only. All students at Cibeins Agricultural High School attend Cultural and Social Classes.
This course aims to promote communication skills, discovering art and analysing information fed through the Media (radio, TV, press, cinema…) It also helps students to get to know the rural world better and take part to rural cultural activities. The CSE teachers work in cooperation with other teachers, on a shared basis:
- Landscape analysis
- Communication
- Film-making
- Exhibitions

- Photo lab
- Video editing and cutting room
- Exhibition room
- Conference room
